This is a great letter from one man to another. There is no contempt present in this article at all and that is why I'm seeding it. I hate when people are rude during political debates. It's tasteless and unnecessary.
This is a very poignant article about the main area that teachers have failed. The only critique I have on this article is that the second to last paragraph doesn't really show the reality of the students we deal with.
"Projection always hides a feeling you don't want to look at. If you examine any negative trait you insist is present in another person, you will find that same trait hiding in yourself. The more you deny this trait, the more strongly you will have to project it." ~ Dr.
While I agree wholeheartedly with the finale line of this article, I wonder how many students out there have considered that statement...
This is so sad. But it's true. I graduated with my BA in Music in May 2010 and the only places that will accept me are schools. Grocery stores won't even hire me because I'm "over-qualified".
